The Cosmic and the Hyperlocal: Social Design as a Fable
宇宙主義指向未來的遼闊空間,以至難以想像卻可以思想的時間,牽涉終結、重啟、重生的念頭。陳錦輝將會想像,假如我們換上宇宙主義的框架,設想異星生活,一個行星規模的(社會)設計會是怎樣?

Cosmicism points to the vast space of the future and unimaginable but thinkable time, involving the ideas of endings, rebirths and new beginnings. Chan Kam Fai will envision what a planetary-scale (social) design would look like if we switch to a framework of cosmicism and imagine living on an alien planet.

David Barison及Daniel Ross執導的紀錄片《伊斯特河》,圍繞德國哲學家海德格及他對詩人荷爾德林的閱讀開展哲學討論。此節放映將配有映後談,介紹技術及技藝的討論,為宇宙技術讀書會作準備。

讀書會環節 Reading Group

地球社會仍未平等,帶着同樣的宇宙觀着陸異星,也許只能將問題重複一次。陳可樂及李思華的讀書會,將研讀哲學家許煜對宇宙技術觀及其多樣性的思考,求取另一些於異星生活的路徑。

Landing on an alien planet with our old cosmological views might simply cause us to fall back to Earth’s social inequality. In this reading group, HoloK and Sarah Lee will study philosopher Yuk Hui’s thoughts on cosmotechnics and its diversity to seek alternative paths to live on another planet.

着陸異星,講究對地表的勘查,尋求地基及根據。然而,我們習以為常的土地,或許更應以多重方法考掘。在這節讀書會中,葉梓誦將從物質角度思考,討論地表下潛隱的諸種過程,鬆動堅實的地基。

Landing on an alien planet requires surveying the surface for foundations and grounding. However, we should also turn and dig into the land we are accustomed to. In this reading group, Ernest Ip will explore and unground the processes underlying the earth’s surface through a material perspective.

陳朗丰 Lazarus Chan Long Fung

新媒體藝術家,現居於香港。作品探索不同藝術經驗,題材包含生死、空間、意識及時間。他擅長多種媒介,例如聲音景觀、電子裝置、程式編碼、數據視覺化和生成藝術。

Lazarus Chan Long Fung is a new media artist who is currently based in Hong Kong. He explores human experience, including life & death, consciousness and time. He specialises in multifaceted mediums, such as soundscape, electronics, data visualisation and generative art.

忻慧姸 Winnie Yan Wai Yin

忻慧姸生活及工作於香港。擅於選用文學語句並置穿插於敘述過程中,透過轉移個人觀察與不同文本的時空情感距離,刻劃殘留於空間物件中的日常瑣碎記憶。近期展覽及放映包括:M+,波昂錄像藝術雙年展,鹿特丹國際影展,歐洲媒體藝術節,Videoex,Image Forum ,EXiS及台灣國際錄像藝術展等。

Winnie Yan Wai Yin works and lives in Hong Kong. She excels at the juxtaposition and insertion of literary texts in narratives. Through shifting personal observations and the temporal, emotional distance in different texts, she inscribes quotidian fragments of memories lingering in space and objects. Recent exhibitions and screenings include: M+, Videonale, IFFR, EMAF, Videoex, Image Forum, EXiS, and TIVA among others.

鄧廣燊 Tang Kwong San

鄧廣燊出生於中國內地,現居香港。他於二〇一九年獲得澳大利亞皇家墨爾本理工大學藝術學士學位。他的創作結合了照片、繪畫、物件和錄像,追溯家庭不同年代之間的記憶和社會歷史。通過對各種媒介的舊物,家庭相冊和文件進行重組和重新詮釋,鄧廣燊探索渴望、失落和歸屬之間既微妙又錯綜複雜的聯繫。

Tang Kwong San was born in China and now lives in Hong Kong. He received his BA in Fine Arts from RMIT University, Australia, in 2019. His practice bines photographs, drawings, objects and videos that trace intergenerational family memories and social history. Through reorganising and reinterpreting old belongings, family photo albums and documents in a range of media, he explores the subtle, intricate and complex connections between longing, loss and belonging.

黃慧心 Wong Winsome Dumalagan

黃慧心主要集中於錄像和雕刻影像。透過與相機遊走,譜寫和雕刻影像的質感和節奏,她相信藝術能讓她理解並步入生活。因此,她大部分作品都與她的日常生活和周遭的人有關,而她的作品亦受其流動性影響而在不同的文化背景下創作。她花很多時間思考影像和藝術創作背後的權力議題,有時她讓身邊的人成為創作原料的提供者,而她是作品的「媒介」或「共同創作者」。

Wong Winsome Dumalagan mainly works on videography and the sculpting of images. Through moving along with her camera, composing and sculpting the texture and rhythm of the images, she believes that art helps guide her to comprehend and step into daily life. Therefore, most of her works are about her daily life and people around her, leading her works to be created in different cultural contexts along her mobility. She also spent a lot of time thinking about the authority of images and artwork, that there are times she credits that sources of her works are people around her and that she acts as an ‘agent’ or ‘co-creator’ of the works.
